We met while Jeri was on a mission trip to Canada and the rest is history as they say. A boy from Beamsville (Ontario) and a girl from Cheyenne. We were married May 20, 2000 we have enjoyed the many joys of marriage. One of our greatest joys came July 1, 2005 with the birth of our daughter Hannah. For us the story continues with a mission. Starting in 2006 we will serve as missionaries in Alotau, Papua New Guinea.

Packing Up

Hannah enjoyed playing while we packed up our stuff. She had a lot more energy than Daddy!
Who needs toys?? Boxes are much better!
Hannah got plenty of practice with crawling and climbing around the mess we had while we were packing up. One day we looked over and she had crawled on top of a box and was lying on it on her tummy! She's already a professional at moving since this is her second move - all before the age of one year. If you have any questions, you can ask Hannah all about it. She'd be glad to say, "ba ba ba ba ba" or "da da da da" or "abba". You can interpret those for yourself!

Preparing to Leave

You never realize how much stuff you have until you start preparing to move - especially overseas. We had a garage sale on Friday and Saturday and sold a bunch of our stuff, which was a blessing. Last night Craig said, "Let's watch TV...oh wait, no TV. Let's go relax on the couch....no couch. Let's go sit at the table...no table." Thankfully the house we're staying in has a spare bed so we don't have to sleep on the floor! We actually sold our car last night, too! We are thankful that Wal-Mart and Target are within walking (or jogging) distance. But it's a weird feeling not owning a car. I think this is the first time in my life to not have a car! Time continues to fly. We hope to have the rest of our belongings shipped to PNG by the end of this week.
No pictures to show with this post. Our camera's memory card stopped working and a new one is on its way in the mail. We're glad it stopped working here and not in PNG. More pictures to come... Sorry for the delay, fans of Hannah!

Outdoor fun!

Hannah enjoyed being outside while we washed the car. We washed it so we can sell it before moving to PNG. (It seems like that's the only time we ever wash a car - to sell it!) Hannah jumped, screamed, played, and loved watching us spray the car with water! It was a beautiful Houston day to be outside. Mommy accidentally sprayed her with the hose once, but she didn't seem to mind too much!

The girls pose after the hard work of washing the car. Daddy was taking pictures of the car to put it up for sale on the internet. He got one of Hannah and Mommy too! Posted by Picasa

A Taste of Culture: PNG Night

We had a great time on Saturday night. Our "Taste of Culture" night was well attended by about 45 brave guests. We shared PNG food, artifacts, and language.

Craig, Jeri, and Hannah teach a song in Melanesian Pidgin.

Members from Champions enjoyed a PNG feast!

Champions members were willing to try new food and even sang and read in Melanesian Pidgin!

Bob and Marilyn Kendall enjoy the PNG artifacts available. That seashell necklace looks great on you, Bob!
