Home, Sweet Home
We are now home!! We enjoyed a short holiday in New Zealand on the way back to PNG. (Thanks to Craig for his creative ways of earning free hotel nights. We didn’t have to pay for any of the 5 nights!!) It was a great time with our family. The South Island is absolutely beautiful. While we were there, we saw gobs of sheep, took some nice drives through the country, and took a short cruise. We got to see dolphins and a seal on the cruise!! It was really exciting. We took a gondola ride up a mountain and enjoyed a nice supper with an incredible view at the top. Then Craig and I took turns taking the luge down. It was a great time. But all the while, I was ready to be HOME… It is weird to call it that since we have never spent much time at all in our new house. But since we have basically been displaced for the past year and a half, it feels so good to know that we are here to stay for a while. We got home on Tuesday, Oct. 16. The next few days were spent washing all of our clothes and linens that were stored in our house. Things don’t fare too well during rainy season and everything reeked of mildew. All of our dishes needed the mold washed from them too, so we had plenty of work to do. Now, almost a week into our time back here, we are starting to feel settled. Our new house is actually starting to feel like a home. I was blessed to be able to go to a Ladies Day at church on Saturday. Then it was so good to see our Christian brothers and sisters on Sunday. There is no place like home…
(Pictures of our New Zealand holiday to come later. We don’t have phone nor internet access at our house, so our blogging may be a little more sporadic these days.)

Glad you made it safely. Sorry about the mildew issues but you sound like you handled it like a true missionary! :) Will look forward to pics.
Love you guys -- Nicole
